Random Articles of "Humor"

Money for Nothing

Yesterday, I enslaved my toast. Yes, that's right. I, having bought the toast, enslaved it to do my bidding. My evil, evil bidding… like getting me a drink from the refrigerator, hunting the elusive, near-extinct Hullabalabazoo, or combing my hair, except it doesn't do that good of a job because it usually leaves a lot of crumbs. Of course, being enslaved, it isn't fed or paid for its multitude of services, but if it were, it'd probably be in jelly. Sometimes I see it looking fondly outside of its cage, wondering why it can't roam the countryside or perhaps visit its mother's cottage in Germany. And then, I remind myself that it's a piece of toast and couldn't possibly have feelings and should shut up and do my laundry.

I'll Take the Cat's Class

Teachering. Unless they're tall, it's what little people do. Teachering occurs at random places often adjacent to other places, but mostly in buildings named after people important to people who name buildings. This long established tradition began in what historians call the Neolithic Period by a kitten named Mr. Fuzzy Whiskerton. Having learned the art of being curious, roaming independently, and climbing and getting stuck in trees through years of intense research and study, Whiskerton decided to share these things with all the other kittens in the form of napping and dancing and found such a pyramid to do so. After centuries of secrecy, during what is known as the Magical Mistoffelees era, humans discovered this thing that they did and made a musical about it. Much, much later, these people decided to copy the cats and created a university to practice their own teachering, but did so in lecture form without dancing or napping, making it incredibly boring. Today, we still cater to cats but they don't cater to us …and that is why cats are smart and I sleep in class- the end.

Actress: Tatiana Maslany - mostly because the internet is bitching about her not being nominated and I have to stand by my internet, because I love my internets.

Actor: The one that said "penis" after shaving his balls #crosswordpuzzletime

Supporting Actress: The Blue one. Or Anna Gunn. Battlestar Galactica: respect.

Supporting Actor: Jeff Perry (Scandal) (for being one pissed off non-stereotypical gay dude)

Guest Actress: Let’s go with Betty White in whatever she did.

Guest Actor: Keanu Reeves
, for you know, that thing he did

Writing for a Drama series: Let’s be honest people- True Blood

Drama Series: The Kardashian's
. I believe the entire crew got "contact plastic surgery" and a horrible case of "rich people's problems" from the filming; several among them may have also suffered severe brain reductions.

Lead Comedy Actress: Lena Dunhahahaha she's so great she doesn't need awards but really… I mean, let’s figure this out

Lead Comedy actor: Jimmy Fallalalalalon (late night). The man is undeniably hip and always humble- thank you.

Supporting Actress in comedy: Kate Mckinnon. (SNL)
Close second: Anna Chlumsky, (Veep) because the more people that have to say her last name the better. That is, as long as they're pronouncing it "Chuh-lum-skee"

Supporting A
ctor in comedy : Danny Pudi (Community). Let's give this guy some credit, yo.

Guest Actress in comedy:
I really hope this turns out be an Orange is the New Black three-way

Guest Actor in comedy: that one guy, you know, the one that smiles a lot and is irresistibly charming.

Comedy Writing: Those people who write 2 Broke Girls or Brooklyn-Nine-Nine.  (I'm pretty sure these are the only real options)

Comedy Director: Jodie Foster. Besides being an amazing actress / person / director, this could be a great boon to getting more females in lead roles in this industry.

Comedy Series: All of the candidates are great but I'm still holding out for Teen Mom

Mini series actress lead: They are all great, national treasures.  But if I had to choose one... I'd say-

Mini series actor lead: I just want to say if I ever had to pronounce Chiwetel it’d probably come out something like “Chipotle.” Does that make me a bad person?

Mini series supporting actress lead: Kristen Wiig (Spoils of Babylon) - just because or because she's awesome- you decide.

Mini series supporting actor lead: Normal Heart- four way. Orange is the new black eat your heart out. (I’m determined to make this one sexy emmys show)

Host for a reality blahblahalah: really I think Anthony Bourdain is Tom Bergeron twenty years in the future and that's what really matters.

Host for a variety series: The View (whatever network its on).

Director for a variety series: Don Roy King (SNL) mostly because I want people to confuse him with Don King, if he doesn't go to the emmys with awesome hair and trying to set up heavyweight fights- sadness.

Variety series: Real Time with Bill Maher (HBO) (aka the space ninja)

Writing for a variety special: a tie: Billy Crystal 700 Sundays and Sarah Silverman: We Are Miracles because, god bless it, America… you heard me AMERICA

Animated program: Archer (FX networks) mostly for its humanitarian efforts in the eradication of large amounts of cocaine in mostly consumable, fun ways.

Children’s programming: Fox news? But really One Last Hug: Three Days At Grief Camp?  Most depressing title ever.

Documentary: Sarah Palin, news correspondent (NBC)

Other awards: (a collection)- Sons of Kimmel’s Deadliest, Live, Sleepy Space Sex Horror Awards Time Show

Do you have a project that costs money?  Want materials like video cameras, printing presses, or all kinds of  livestock for freeeee?

Why sink money into this project when you can get the average dip to pay for it?  At kickstarter.com you can put up a description via text, podcast or video explaining why Mr & Mrs. McBucks-in-Their-Pants should give their dollars towards your new revolutionary, fundraising taco cart.
  • Or your soon-to-be multi-platinum album that you could eventually make millions from
  • Or a trip to Kazakhstan to buy a screen-printing kit off of a hobo’s truck.
  • Or starting your own sport like “donor organ kicking”

  • Or for you to "move closer to the internet" so your blog posts can reach your audience faster.
Whatever it is, you have to raise the amount you asked for or you don’t get any of the money you’ve raised.  How to get to that point?  Fundraisers add incentives to get more donations:  if you pay this much, we make fun of you less.  Try not to think of it as participatory creativity bullying. The more lunch money you give, the better you’re going to look at the end of the project.  People offer still-frames or prints (sometimes signed), lunch with directors, rendezvouses at undisclosed hotels, a character gets named after you, mostly anything that’s highly reproducible such as anything labeled “limited edition”  or 1 of 100(000).

Also, once you’ve reached your goal, you can
  • Sell whatever it is you fundraised for
  • Still ask for donations
  • Still sell those nifty limited edition incentive items for more cash.
  • Start another kickstarter program for the sequel / product slant to other media such as tv, graphic novel, super fluffy goat lingerie, commercials, etc.
So hey, if you've got an idea... try one of these crowdsourcing type sites... millions are waiting to give you millions so that you can get millions to get millions and quite possibly make you famous.
