Preface: Wanting to write for SNL or some paying sketch comedy TV gig… it’s important to keep up with the activity.  There isn’t a much better way than practicing to a standard, in this case I'll be using SNL's.  As mentioned in my writing goals list, SNL asks its writers to pitch sketch ideas on Monday and have fleshed out sketches early Wednesday morning.  So… every week I will try to pitch aboot 5-10 sketch ideas.  See what people think about them and choose 1-3 to write (everything depending on time).

Possible Sketches:
  • Clown Concealer Conspiracy- there are clowns among us (than you’ll ever know)
  • There’s another script in my newspaper. I’d better read it. Oh, here’s one on my toilet paper, magazine, paper plate, sticky note, back of guy’s jacket.  ...perhaps a meta sketch realizing person’s in a sketch?  Or just finding all of these scripts.  Maybe even… at some point becomes dependent on the scripts to talk. I've no idea how to write this yet but I like the premise...
  • Work off a tweet I wrote: body found in vacant coffin amidst random grieving people.  Update: random shaman passing by performs ancient mystical rite on body found in vacant coffin.
  • Commercial: Un-vitalize with child spawn. Have energy?  Don’t want any?
  • Couple accidentally brings a Klingon home.
  • The political bathroom
  • Quiet Room Cocoa (possible talk show? ...just like the title)
  • Something working with the phrases:
    • "Neglecting your child and other healthy habits"s
    • "Drinking, it’s still good for you"
  • Random pauses guy to come up with ideas “he’s turned off at the moment”
  • Toilet paper people
  • Couple in bed sketch
  • At a dark lit table sketch
  • On couch sketch (perhaps sleeping on couch/couch surfing person in weirdo apartment)
  • Meet guy, hyperbolic statements of person
  • Parody of Knock of New York Times Voices
  • We're not allowed to talk about that (game show)
  • Sifting through someones's garbage
  • Buddy cow movie
  • Book Talking
    • Asinine, irrelevant and such chapters and derogatory remarks.
      • Side note: wins the most likely to be written award

Progress:

March was a wonky month with probably just as many responsibilities as this month so anywho... starting from zero again. Sketches will be written by next Tuesday and reported with new sketch ideas for the next week.  If I don't write any sketches, I'll still post the ideas that I was dwelling on as "good show." I'm not one for painting excuses but... hey, just like anyone, I got'em.

Same note from before: my blog is still in the works, some sections aren't up / still being developed.
